Self Esteem Activities Tip 1
Don't put yourself down. Every time you repeat (or think) negative comments about yourself or your capabilities, you damage your chance of raising your self esteem. Avoid saying or even thinking anything negative about your work, looks, financial position or especially your relationships.
Self Esteem Activities Tip 2
Never, ever, compare yourself with other people. There are people with more perceived wealth and prosperity than you, also many with less. If you constantly compare yourself with others you end up in an internal battle with yourself that can only have one loser, yourself.
Self Esteem Activities Tip 3
You have almost certainly had achievements in your life that you were proud of. List them, and read the list often. Even things that now seem unimportant, graduating, passing your driving test,getting a well earned promotion or reaching a goal of some sort, have at one time given you a lift and left you with a smile, remember them and enjoy the moments again.
Self Esteem Activities Tip 4
Accept all compliments with a "thank you". If you say "Oh it was nothing" you suggest that you are not worthy of thanks, the person thanking you obviously feels you are, or they wouldn't have bothered. Accept their thanks graciously, and add yet another tick to your list of achievements.
Self Esteem Activities Tip 5
Try to associate with supportive, positive people. When you are surrounded by negative folk, who repeatedly put you and your ideas down, your self esteem is destroyed. If however you are around upbeat people you will be accepted and encouraged, you are in the best environment to raise your self esteem, and you thrive. It's still you in there, just different peoples opinions you're listening to.
Self Esteem Activities Tip 6
Start doing more for others, not in financial way, rather give more of yourself to those near to you.When you assist others you will make yourself feel better, up go your spirits and with it your sense of self worth.
Self Esteem Activities Tip 7
Get together with a friend you trust. set a timer for, say 5 minutes, and say everything positive that you feel about the other person. After the time is up set another 5 minutes and they do the same for you. See how you feel after this exercise and remember how you felt before. Repeat often.
Self Esteem Activities Tip 8
Take Action! Your self esteem can't improve by itself, you need to help it. When you take action, especially something you've been avoiding, and it goes off OK, how do you feel. Good? You bet, now find the next task you've been avoiding and deal with that too. Now you are getting somewhere.
And Finally Tip 9
Take advantage of books,audios, videos and online seminars telling how other people reached their goals. You are not the first person to feel unsure, you certainly won't be the last, but when you come through this stage successfully the world will be yours for the taking.
